Extensive general knowledge of various protocols, Operating Systems, GUIs, VPS and Hosting Management Systems, TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and DNS management, plus numerous platforms and companies for outsourcing hardware provision, website design, content, code, advertising and tech support. Experience with Adwords PPC and other online advertising networks beginning in 2003, spanning many campaigns and using thousands of keywords and phrases over the following decade plus. Experience of conducting split-testing, examining site stats, ad variation comparison and demographic / geographic specific delivery. Affiliate and CPA experience, particularly in the travel and tourism and UK marine sectors using standard 'white-hat' web marketing practices. Good working knowledge of statistics and web analytics tools and SEM/SEO fundamentals. Services provided to many companies over the years including various merchants, publishers and consultancy clients. I do less of this type of work nowadays but still closely follow current mobile internet and web developments, especially news relating to social media, content publishing, digital licensing, marketing, smartphones, mobile apps, payment technologies and emergent bitcoin/altcoin economies and am always happy to be consulted on particularly interesting projects. |
